Conversion Tracking & Behaviour
Conversion Tracking and Behaviour Analytics
Follow the path from first visit to meaningful action: reliable conversion tracking, funnels and behaviour analysis that show where the journey loses people and what to investigate next.

Hotjar-style heat view · illustrative
Heat stays faint until visitors flow. Play the funnel and watch where attention gathers.Illustrative demo with fixed, made-up numbers. Real behaviour analysis uses your tracked journeys and recordings, and treats every drop as a question, not a verdict. The heat view is a Hotjar-style illustration, not a live Hotjar feed.
Why it matters
Totals tell you what. Journeys tell you where.
A conversion rate that dropped this month is a symptom. The useful work starts when you can see the steps people actually took.
A single number cannot explain itself. Conversion rate fell from 3.1% to 2.6%? That could be traffic quality, a broken checkout step, a seasonal shift, a tracking change or a price increase. Without the journey, you are guessing between them.
Conversion tracking and behaviour analytics connects the dots: which events fired, which steps people completed, where they stalled, and which drop-off patterns repeat across segments. It turns “something changed” into “here is the step, here is the segment, here is what to look at.”
The output is not a pile of charts. It is a short list of moments worth acting on, each with the evidence that put it there.
What you get
Tracking and behaviour deliverables
From conversion definitions to annotated journey analysis, everything arrives readable.
- 01
Conversion map
Every meaningful action defined once: what counts, what does not and why.
- 02
Funnel definitions
Step sequences written to match how people really move, including edge paths.
- 03
Drop-off analysis
Where people leave, segmented by source, device and intent where data allows.
- 04
Journey annotations
Marked up paths linking behaviour to interface moments, ready for a designer or developer.
- 05
Event timeline
Sequence analysis: what happened before the drop, not just where it happened.
- 06
Investigation list
A ranked set of moments to verify, test or fix, with the supporting evidence attached.
Example output
Funnel with drop-off signals
Illustrative figures. Real analyses use your data and show the segments that behave differently from each other.
Two steps carry most of the loss. That is where the investigation starts, and where an experiment would be cheaper than a redesign.
Implementation approach
How an analysis engagement runs
- STEP 01
Define
Agree the conversions and journeys that matter to the business, in plain language, before touching a tool.
- STEP 02
Verify
Check that the tracking behind each step is accurate: firing rules, parameters, duplicates, consent.
- STEP 03
Trace
Build funnel and journey views, then walk through them segment by segment to find real patterns.
- STEP 04
Report
Deliver findings as annotated journeys and an investigation list, then decide what to test or fix first.
Scope
What conversion tracking includes
- Includes conversion definitions, funnel construction, drop-off analysis and written findings.
- Includes repair of broken or untrusted tracking where it blocks the analysis.
- Uses aggregated data from tools you own; no recording of individual visitors is performed by CROLANE.
- Live heatmaps or replay platforms, if you want them, are implemented in your own accounts under your consent policy.
- The on-page journey demonstration is simulated sample data and collects nothing.
Recommendations are tied to evidence you can inspect. If the data cannot support a conclusion, the report will say that instead of filling the gap with a story.
How is this different from the GA4 implementation service?
Analytics implementation is about building the collection layer: properties, tags, configuration. Conversion tracking and behaviour analytics is about the questions: which conversions matter, which paths to trace, which drop-offs to investigate, and what the patterns mean for decisions.
Do you record our users or access private data?
No. Behaviour work uses aggregated analytics, and if session replay tools are involved we work inside accounts you own, under your consent configuration. The demonstration on this page is simulated and collects nothing.
What if our tracking is currently broken?
That is a normal starting point. Repairs are scoped first: identify what is wrong, fix the collection, then rebuild the analysis on top of data you can trust.
What formats do findings come in?
Funnel views, annotated journey maps, event timelines and a written analysis linking each observation to a suggested next step. Everything is designed to be read by non-analysts.
